China Put LPDDR6 Into a Commercial Phone — The Memory Race Just Changed

China’s semiconductor story is often framed around logic chips and lithography. Memory may be just as important.

CXMT says its LPDDR6 memory has entered mass production and is being used in a commercial flagship phone. The company lists peak data rates of up to 12,800 Mbps and says the design lowers power consumption compared with its LPDDR5X generation.

If those products scale, the significance is larger than one smartphone launch. It places a Chinese memory manufacturer directly into the transition toward a new global mobile-memory standard.
